The project consists of setting up the "VictEau Squad", a multidisciplinary team of researchers, cross-sectoral partners and stakeholders to address the problem of the Beaudet Reservoir in Victoriaville. The Beaudet Reservoir, which had an original capacity of about 1.54 Mm³, has seen its capacity reduced to about 0.91 Mm³ in 2018 (41% loss). Its average depth has decreased from 1.76 m in 1994 to 1.2 m in 2018. This reduction in depth leads to an increase in water temperature, the proliferation of aquatic plants and the risk of cyanobacteria proliferation. As a result, the City's water intake is silting up and may quickly become inoperable. The VictEau Squad project, as submitted, is an action-research project.
