In Africa, several sectors are dependent on water: agriculture, fisheries, livestock, energy, transport, etc. It is therefore important to identify the complex issues surrounding access to water in the continent.
Water resources are unevenly distributed, often influenced by climate and exposed to increasing pollution. Water quality remains a major concern and groundwater is difficult to mobilize in most regions. It is necessary to note an important divide between urban and rural (less structured and neglected by external partners) and a significant imbalance between the situation of water supply and sanitation (sector dispersed between several actors and less equipped Than hydraulics).
